On Saturday July 31, the PIHPS Annual Meeting will celebrate the acquisition of the Coffee Shop with a meeting at the Union Church from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm followed by an event on the church lawn from 12:00 pm to 2:00. The celebration theme focuses on the years when the Coffee Shop was operating.  In preparation for the meeting, the PIHPS is collecting photos of islanders from 1950 to 1969 to display at the meeting and to archive for our historical collection. Please check through your family albums to find photos of you and your family.  Remember, this is a history of both people and places - so send along photos that were not taken on PI but are of people who at one time resided on PI.

Photos can be given to the PIHPS in several ways.  1.  If you have a scanner, digitize the photos (jpg, gif, tiff or png) and email as attachment to: PIHPSociety@verizon. net or if you belong to Facebook, upload your photos to the wall of the Prudence Island History page. 2.  If you do not have a scanner, drop your photos off to Judi Foster or Anna Levesque and Judi will scan them for you and return the originals.  Please label all photos with names, locations and dates that the photos were taken.

Plan to come to the meeting  attired in clothes of the 50’s & 60’s!  More information about the activities planned for the celebration can be obtained by clicking on the following link: Photo Info
